Portrait Sessions for Women

Our Shooting Process

Staffing Details

I always shoot with my wife, who's also a photographer, and who's a great help in providing a 2nd set of eyes when I’m shooting. There are often situations where I’m so focused on certain details that I overlook others, and her perspective is helpful in making sure all relevant details are addressed properly for the best images possible.

Shooting Styles

We prefer to shoot images that look as natural as possible, and try very hard to have our portraits reflect a casual look.

While we're happy to shoot “casual/clothed” portraits, we also have a great deal of experience shooting sensual images and fine-art nudes. Another strong preference we have for portraits is to shoot close-up images, rather than full-length as this allows the viewer to focus more on the subjects eyes and expressions. A very important comment is that we will absolutely not shoot anything that has any possible appearance of pornography. Our nude images are always shot as "fine-art."

Lighting Options

We prefer to shoot in natural light and generally do not use flash/artificial lighting. For natural light shooting, we usually shoot in the early morning or late afternoon when the light is more attractive for portraits.

However, for clients wanting more dramatic images, we can also shoot at night with flash lighting. With this type of shooting, we can use black backgrounds for what are called "low key" images which are very high contrast and mostly dark, or we can use white backgrounds for "high key" images which are mostly low contrast and bright.
